It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our esteemed President & CEO, Dan Harbaugh after a courageous three-time battle with cancer. Dan served as a guiding light for Ronald McDonald House Charities of St. Louis for over 30 years, leaving an incredible mark on our mission and community.
Under Dan’s leadership, Ronald McDonald House Charities of St. Louis has grown from one location to opening three additional Ronald McDonald Houses. Today, the charity provides its impactful mission through two locations that support 92 families each night. Further, the Ronald McDonald Family Room program has continued to thrive with four locations across three major hospital partners. These rooms support over 49,000 families annually.
Dan was more than just a leader; he was a husband, a father, a mentor, a friend, and a passionate advocate for seriously ill children and their families. His unwavering commitment to providing a home away from home to families when they need it most has been a beacon of hope and progress. His loss is deeply felt by all who had the privilege to know him, a testament to the profound impact he had on our lives.
His vision, dedication, and compassion have touched the lives of countless individuals, and his legacy will continue to inspire us all.
